Microsoft is giving us a bit of a teaser with its first Windows 8 ad, which shows some pretty neat things about the new OS.

The advertisement displayed the Windows 8 OS across several devices including tablets, desktops and laptops, highlighting its touch capabilities and interactive functionality. You would easily notice that the new version made significant changes to the operating system’s interface, with a complete design overhaul and additional touch abilities.

Now, there’s no more traditional Start menu, which was used in previous versions of Windows. There is also a version of the OS to be utilised on ARM architecture for mobile use.

Windows 8 is simply the biggest deal for our company in many years," says CEO Steve Ballmer in July. "It's a huge opportunity for our partners."

Windows will be released to the public on October 26. Video ads first appeared online last week but were quickly taken down by Microsoft.
