Hisense is breaking into a new market with two sound bars

Hisense today announced it will break into a new category of home entertainment products with a pair of new sound bars coming later this year.

Hisense’s leading sound bar offers 11 speakers, four of which face upward to bounce off the ceiling and provide directional audio. A wireless 8-inch subwoofer that comes with the sound bar provides deeper bass frequencies. This sound bar supports DTS:X and Dolby Atmos compatibility.

An entry level sound bar is also offered, with two speakers and a 6.5-inch wireless subwoofer. Both sound bars support all the connection options you’d expect, along with Bluetooth and auxiliary cables.

Speaking at CES, Andre Iannuzzi, Head of Marketing at Hisense Australia said, “At Hisense we continue to innovate with the latest technologies to provide our Australian consumers with the ultimate at-home cinematic experience. This year, we’ve put an even greater emphasis on sound to ensure we can deliver on this and the introduction of the sound bar range is yet another example of how we are responding to consumer demand.”

“2019 is set to be our biggest year yet. Launching sound bars in the Australian market, together with significant audio improvements across our TVs is all part of our mission to provide our Australian customers with even greater opportunities to immerse themselves in a premium, at-home viewing experience,” Iannuzzi added.

The sound bars are expected to launch locally in the first half of this year, with pricing and availability to be confirmed closer to release.
