Microsoft has finally given its video-loving Windows Phone users a fully functioning YouTube app to satisfy their video streaming needs.

The company was previously unsuccessful in their attempts to create a YouTube app and caused a lot of Windows Phone users to settle for third-party apps when watching videos. In fact, the previous app was so bad that it resulted to a feud between Google and Microsoft with the latter claiming that their efforts of creating a fully serviced app were being blocked by Google.

Fortunately, it seems that the two companies have somehow made amends with each other as evidenced by the drastic improvements of the new app in contrast to its predecessor. With the new YouTube app, users can now pin specific videos, playlists, channels and search queries to the Start screen as a live tile for fast access.

The app also offers the ability to login to YouTube, browse through channel subscriptions, view uploads, playlists, and video lists; and even extend some features to WP8’s Kid’s corner to limit access to specific content to children.
