New information about Microsoft’s rumoured update to its signature operating system has been leaked on the internet over the weekend.

The information comes from Polish site Winforum.eu where screenshots of the alleged update have been posted. The OS featured in the forum is said to be a pre-release version and is dubbed as Build 9364. Based from the images uploaded on the site, Windows Blue will feature both smaller and bigger live tile setups similar to what Windows Phone 8 users have.

There might also be increased user control over colour personalisation, new options in terms of style settings, and an additional snap view that lets users place apps side by side in a 50-50 arrangement. Improvements to power efficiency, speech recognition and touch capabilities have also been reported to come with this update.

Moreover, Internet Explorer 11 also makes an appearance (at least in name) in this build. There might also be new options for the SkyDrive service. Microsoft is also rumoured to be improving the control panel options on Windows blue so that tablet users don’t have to go to the desktop control panel to change things.

Windows Blue is expected to enter public preview in the coming months with a full release due later this year.
