Sony Australia announced that its 84-inch 4K resolution television will commence pre-sales in Australia from tomorrow, through Sony Centres across Australia for $24,999.
Designed and built in Japan, incorporating purpose-built Sony 4K technology, and drawing on Sony’s work in broadcast and 4K production, the new Sony 4K TV presents a revolution in picture technology, claims the company.
Customers who buy the BRAVIA KD-84X9000 4K TV will also receive other Sony services. Sony will provide an in-home consultation, delivery and removal of your old set, in-home setup and education, plus premium post-purchase support. Equipped with 4K X-Reality PRO and a 4K LCD panel comprising over eight million pixels, the TV provides four times the resolution of Full HD resolution.
The 4K X-Reality PRO picture engine is capable of taking a variety of content with different resolutions, such as HD footage from digital broadcasts or Blu-ray discs, and reproducing it in crisp, high-quality images with 4K resolution. In addition, you can have a 3D experience with a Full HD image displayed to each eye due to the passive 3D glasses.
The 84-inch display combined with the high resolution of 3840 x 2160 allows viewers to sit much closer to the screen without noticing the pixel structure (approx. 1.5 metres).
Other technologies include signal processing through to its speakers, and ‘signal-to-sound architecture’ which is claimed to deliver good sound quality. This three-way 10-speaker system (total output 50W) is arranged at the sides of the 4K TV directly facing the viewing position, and is optimised for large-screen TVs.
