Lighting plays an important role when setting up the mood of a particular space. In the past, setting up mood lighting for a room would involve the use of several lighting fixtures, not to mention different coloured light bulbs in order to obtain a desired effect. But thanks to the internet of things, creating mood lighting is now easier and more convenient.

Take for example smart bulbs such as Philips’ Hue Lighting. The Dutch company’s personal wireless lighting solutions give users the ability to instantly change the colour of the light coming from the bulb in order to change the vibe of a room based on their mood and preference.

The Hue bulbs use tunable white light which offers users the full spectrum of light colour at their fingertips. With Hue, users can easily set the perfect one or recreate an atmosphere by just tapping an option on its accompanying mobile app.

But with numerous colour options available at an instant, it could be a bit confusing to choose which light colour is best fit for a specific environment and occasion. So here are a couple of pointers to consider before you setup your personal living spaces with the Philips Hue Lighting.

The use of blue light can lead to depression

According to a research done by Randy Nelson and Tracy Bedriosan which was published in the August 2013 issue of The Journal of Neuroscience, the use of blue light especially at night can cause depression.
