Virgin Mobile stores offering Pokémon Go players free recharges

Virgin Mobile is capitalising on the Pokémon Go craze by offering free recharges to players burning through their smartphone's battery life. The offer is available to anyone (not just Virgin customers) at any of the company's 52 Australian stores and kiosks. Virgin says its kitted out its stores and kiosks with iPhone and Android chargers in all shapes and sizes, so you should hopefully be covered, no matter what kind of phone you're using.

You can find your nearest Virgin Mobile store through the company's store locator.

While a free recharge might be enough to keep you catching Zubats for a while, a portable battery pack may be a worthwhile investment for budding Pokémon masters. Based on internal testing, CyberShack can comfortably recommend Xiamoi's massive 16,000mAh Mi Power Bank (which can recharge an iPhone 6s almost eight times) or for something a touch more portable, Belkin's MIXIT Metallic Power Pack 6,600. The Xiaomi 16,000mAh Mi Power Bank isn't available in Australia, so if you're after it, importing or eBay are your only choices. Xiamoi counterfeits can be common, so be sure to investigate a seller's reputation before buying.
