The competition between Video on Instagram and Vine is getting stiffer by the minute. Today, Vine announced its biggest update since its launch that aims to provide users with a better video sharing experience and a bigger opportunity to gain followers and increase popularity.

The update specifically brings in a much improved camera which makes it easy for viners to frame their shots. The new camera on the app now features a grid, the ability to focus and ghost tools which let users view their previous shots.

Vine has also added more features on its app that help Viners get noticed. For starters, the update brings 15 new channels where people can submit posts to. There’s also an “On the Rise” category that lets users check out people who are gaining popularity in the network.

The new app now features a single-tap re-vine button that provides easy sharing of videos to other users. Lastly, Vine has also added an option for users to choose if they want to share their videos publicly or to only show them only to their followers.

However, the 6-second time limit for recording videos hasn’t changed and the app still lacks the ability to edit videos on the fly. The update is now available on iOS with the update for Android to follow shortly.
