Recent rumours about Apple’s iOS 7 puts Vimeo and Flickr at the spotlight as Apple might push for deeper integration of these two services into the newest version of their mobile operating system.

The information is courtesy of the Apple-focused tech news website 9to5mac which claims that the next version of the platform will likely have integration with Flickr and Vimeo the same way the OS has with Facebook and Twitter.

Moreover, reports say that these services may provide access to third party apps using the native integration with the OS. With this integration, users will be able to upload photos and videos directly from the Photos or Videos app to Flick or Vimeo. Users would also need to sign in only once using the built-in settings application in iOS.

Both services have already been integrated into Apple’s desktop OS – OS X Mountain Lion since 2012 so it’s not at all surprising to see Flickr and Vimeo make the leap to the company’s mobile operating system. Furthermore, integration with iOS might also help improve these services and increase their utilisation specifically with Flickr who just received 1TB of free storage from Yahoo this week.
