Txtr Beagle is coming out with a super low-cost eReader that pairs with your Android devices. The handy device will only cost around $13 and is 5mm thin.

This cheap gadget is set to be released globally though no date has been announced yet.

The Txtr Beagle has a 5-inch, 800×600 E-ink screen that has 4GB of built-in storage.

This eReader will also save you on energy cost as it runs on 3 AAA batteries that are meant to last a year of regular reading.

So how did the German e-book developer Txtr manage to keep the cost down at $13? By using the brains of your smartphone to download and discover the books. The device grabs the books you have on your smartphone, which is transferred through the free Txtr App that is available on Google Play.

The eReader is just that- a reader. There are no ports or features apart from reading books, no 3G or Wifi to drive up the price.  This is in line with the company’s goal to position itself as a smartphone accessory instead of a standalone e-reader.
