  • Light in weight

HP has introduced three new ultraportable notebook PCs to the market with prices ranging from just under $1,000 to just under $1,700.

The HP Folio is the company’s first Ultrabook for business, which is claimed to bridge the gap between professional and personal lifestyles. Then there is the redesigned HP Envy that is said to marries performance and advanced technologies with precision craftsmanship, while the new Pavilion dm4 Beat Edition aims to deliver the next level of entertainment.

The HP Folio is claimed to deliver up to nine hoursof battery life. Measuring under 0.75-inch thin and utilising a slim 13.3-inch diagonal high-definition (HD) BrightView display, the Folio weighs 1.50-kilos. Powered by the latest Intel Core processors, it also includes Intel Rapid Start Technology, which gets your system up and running fast. It includes a backlit keyboard for mobile users who work in low-light conditions. Connectivity includes RJ-45 and USB 3.0 ports. The HP Folio also includes a solid-state drive (SSD) with 128GB of storage.

The HP Envy sports an all-metal chassis with rounded edges in a classic black and silver finish, and accented by subtle red details. It features the HP Radiance Backlit keyboard that works with a proximity sensor to illuminate when it detects a user approaching the notebook and deactivate after the user leaves. With six built-in speakers and two subwoofers, the Envy makes sure that users connect with every beat with the optimal audio experience – Beats Audio– a technology developed by HP and Beats by Dr. Dre.

In addition, an aluminium analogue volume dial for Beats Audio acts as a visual design cue and works seamlessly with the Beats Audio Manager so users can easily and precisely adjust audio levels at their fingertips.

Meanwhile the Pavilion dm4 Beat Edition reflects the signature Beats black and red design. The black exterior carries a red Beats logo and a black keyboard that is backlit in red. The soft-touch surface on the palm rest provides a smooth, silk-like tactile experience.

It has a one-inch profile in front and 14-inch diagonal high-definition (HD) LED display for an optimal mobile entertainment experience.

Weighing approximately 2kg and offering up to seven hours of battery life, the unit also includes optional Intel Smart Response Technology, which provides faster boot times, and application loads. It also has two subwoofers and Beats Audio.
