Toshiba Unveils New Encore Windows 8.1 Tablet

Toshiba has just announced its first 8-inch windows tablet – the Toshiba Encore at IFA in Berlin. The Encore is a tablet that is fully optimised for Windows 8.1 and comes with built-in features and apps for both productivity and entertainment. The tablet sports an 8-inch AutoBrite display with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels and offers wide viewing angles as well as support for 5-point multi-touch.

Toshiba has just announced its first 8-inch windows tablet – the Toshiba Encore at IFA in Berlin.

The Encore is a tablet that is fully optimised for Windows 8.1 and comes with built-in features and apps for both productivity and entertainment. The tablet sports an 8-inch AutoBrite display with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels and offers wide viewing angles as well as support for 5-point multi-touch.

The device will be powered by the latest Intel Atom processor and will have 2GB of LPDD3 memory and Intel HD graphics. Consumers will get up to 64GB of internal storage, which can be expanded via a microSD card slot.

The device also packs a number of connectivity and multimedia features including a micro USB port, a micro-HDMI, dual-band 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, high quality speakers with Dolby Digital Plus, dual microphones (8MP at the back and 2MP at the front, both capable of capturing 1080p videos) and built-in GPS.

The Toshiba Encore will be available in Australia in the coming months with pricing and availability to be announced at a later date.
