Toshiba (Australia) Pty Limited introduced today the KIRA line of premium Ultrabook.

The Kira line features Toshiba’s unique ultra-high resolution PixelPure display that offers a 90% increase above standard HD displays in terms of producing razor-sharp clarity for text and crystal viewing of photos, videos, movies and games.

The screen also features a fingerprint-resistant and smooth 10-point multi-touch interface designed to maximise the Windows 8 experience. There’s also a layer of Corning’s Concore glass to keep the high resolution protected from scratches or any damages.

The chassis of the Toshiba Kira is crafted from a A791 pressed magnesium alloy combined with a honeycomb-base structure that offers robustness whilst retaining the laptop’s light weight. The Ultrabook also features Toshiba’s AirFlow II technology that allows the device to cool efficiently.

In the sound department, the Kira line comes equipped with high-quality Harman Kardon stereo speakers complemented by DTS audio processing that deliver high-fidelity sound.

In terms of performance, the Kira line will be powered by 3rd generation Intel Core processors, 256GB SSD, 8GB of 1600MHz memory and a high-capacity Li-Polymer battery that can last for up to 6 hours.

The Kira will be available for pre-order on April 26, 2013 and for purchase on May 5 from selected retailers with prices starting from $1799 including GST.
