Samsung officially launched the Galaxy Note 2 in Australia this month, though it seems the device isn't actually launching on all carriers at the same time. In fact, the launch will be months apart.

Telstra this week said that it will be stocking the Note 2 but it won't actually be selling the device until "early next year".

Telstra Web Producer Leigh Price stated, "Well, we can now confirm that Telstra are bringing the Samsung Galaxy Note II to Australia's largest 4G-enabled network early next year. This will bring the number of 4G devices available to Telstra customers to 20."

Meanwhile, rival 4G telco Optus will be going ahead with shipments this week, with pre-orders for the phone claiming an eight days shipping timeframe. Optus opened pre-orders for the Note 2 on 15 November.

Optus is the only one of the telcos to announce pricing for the Note 2. The pricing options available are: an AU$7 handset-repayment fee on a $60 per month plan, which includes $650 worth of calls, unlimited texts and 1.5GB of data each month.

Vodafone has yet to announce its Note 2 plans, though Samsung previously claimed that the carrier will have the device.
