TCL to enter local markets with its first smartphone and smart watch

TCL, the company behind Alcatel, is set to launch its own devices with the upcoming launch of the TCL Plex and TCL Movetime Family Watch.

The TCL Plex is a 6.5-inch device with 90 percent screen-to-body ratio, quality camera hardware, and a screen made by TCL themselves. The camera hardware is perhaps the most interesting feature here – the rear camera array includes a 48MP main lens, 16MP wide-angle lens, and an additional low-light sensor that aids imaging in dark environments.

The TCL Plex will launch in late October in local stores with a retail price of $499.

In addition to the phone, TCL is launching a smartwatch, called the Movetime Family Watch. The idea here is it’s a watch you can give to your children and keep in contact with video calls, regular calls and messaging. Geolocation capabilities are also included, so you can track where your child has been.

The TCL Movetime Family Watch will be available in the middle of November with a retail price of $199.
