A 256GB variant of the Microsoft Surface Pro is apparently making its way first into the Japanese market by 7 June 2013.

Once it arrives in Japan, the Surface Pro will be available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB which is the largest storage option to be offered with the device. Moreover, the 256GB model will have Windows 8 Pro and Office 2013, and will have exclusive Touch covers.

The beefed up Surface Pro is intended to answer some of the issues faced by the current model of the surface wherein users have complained that majority of the device’s storage was rendered unusable as its already being used by the system.

The increased storage space will make the Surface Pro more practical and will be able to compete with other devices including the iPad and MacBook air in term of usable memory.

As stated earlier, the 256GB Surface Pro will be available on June 7 on Japan. It is also very likely that the device will make its way to other parts of the world as the additional storage can help increase interest in the company’s Surface line.
