Microsoft today announced that its first full-fledged notebook – the Surface Book – will be available through Harvey Norman and JB Hi-Fi from January 28 starting at a recommend retail price of AUD$2,229. When the Surface Book first launched in November, it was sold exclusively through Microsoft's Sydney Flagship Store and web store.
A 4G version of the Surface 3 will go on sale alongside the Surface Book. AUD$979 will net customers a 4G model with 128GB of storage. When the Surface 3 launched last year, Microsoft only sold Wi-Fi only models.
Microsoft's fitness tracker, the Microsoft Band 2, will also benefit from wider retail availability. From January 21, it will be available via Harvey Norman, JB Hi-Fi, and select Rebel Sport stores. As with the Surface Book, the Band is only available through Microsoft’s own channels. The Microsoft Band 2 retails for AUD$379.99.
Coinciding with its local news, Microsoft also announced that Windows 10 has now been installed on over 200 million devices around the world, giving it the fastest growth trajectory of any version of the Windows operating system.
