Acer’s TravelMate 8481 notebook has a 2nd generation Intel Core i5 processor and also utilises Intel’s Wireless Display technology, which means it can share presentations or videos on HD displays or TVs via an easy to set up wireless connection.

It is also upgradeable with discreet graphic options. Featuring NVIDIA Optimus technology, NVIDIA GPUs boost graphic performance without impacting on battery life. In addition, multi-monitor support takes productivity to the next level, allowing for easier multitasking.

It has nine hours battery life with an optional eight-cell battery and ensures up to three times longer battery life cycles. The 14-inch LED LCD comes with HD (1366×768) resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio. It is 2.2cm at its thinnest point and weighs only 1.5kg.
 

Equipped with a standard HDD with up to 320GB of space and a Solid State Drive (mSata) with up to 120GB of capacity, this combination provides platform stability with independent storage. This notebook can also count on its 4GB of advanced DDR3 memory for increases in data bandwidths allowing faster multitasking and lower power consumption.

In addition, the unit comes with a range of connectivity options such as 802.11b/g/n wifi, multi-in-one card reader, Bluetooth 2.1, HDMI out and USB 3.0. It also offers a way to check information via Acer InstantView, a Linux-based operating system designed for fast boot up. Starting up in eight seconds, it allows for calendar, document and email contacts to be launched almost immediately.
