Spotify to offer discounted family plans for up to 5 users

Music streaming service Spotify yesterday announced Spotify Family, a service allowing up to five users to share a single billing account at a reduced cost. Each user added to the current bill payer's account only pays half the monthly subscription free.

Australian monthly pricing for Spotify Family is as follows:
Spotify Family for 2 – $17.99
Spotify Family for 3 – $23.99
Spotify Family for 4 – $29.99
Spotify Family for 5 – $35.99

Each user still maintains their own, individual account, meaning listening history, recommendation and playlists are all kept separate.

Spotify Family will be available in Australia in the following weeks.

Competing service Rdio has offered similar plans for over a year now.
