Sony’s underwater digital camera

Determined not to be left out of the consumer tough point-and-shoot camera space and proving that tough doesn’t have to mean big and bulky, Sony’s new Cyber-shot T series, TX10, is designed to be both rugged and stylish.

It is waterproof up to 5 metres, is drop proof from heights of 1.5, dust proof and even freeze proof down to -10 degrees Celsius.

The TX10 boasts a 1080i high-definition AVCHD (1920 x 1080, 50i) recording format and is designed to work exactly the same underwater as it does above water, allowing users to simply flick and drag through images.

The images you take on the camera can then be viewed in Full HD on any Flatscreen TV.

The TX10 has a 16.2 megapixel Exmor R CMOS sensor, AVCHD video and 3D still image capability, and a 4x Optical Zoom and 25mm wide-angle lens.

The TX10 has a RRP of $499.
