A recent rumour has been spreading on the internet today saying that Sony might be planning to sell its PC business to no other than Lenovo.

According to a report by Japanese news service Nikkei, the company is looking to selling its PC business for as much as $492 million to Taiwanese tech giant Lenovo. Bloomberg has also heard the news and claims that an announcement can come out sooner than most people think.

Sony has issued multiple statements that has neither confirmed nor denied the reports. The statement merely says that Sony is discussing with Lenovo Group a possible establishment of a joint venture for the PC business. It also mentions that Sony is considering all options for its PC wing and says the rumour about a Lenovo acquisition is inaccurate.
