Sony Australia has announced the launch of a 3D Blu-ray Home Cinema System – the BDVN9100W, whose design is said to have been inspired by the cut-glass edges and gleaming facets of rock crystal.

The N-series speaker units feature Sony’s Magnetic Fluid Speaker technology, which uses an advanced ferrofluid material developed by NASA for its space programme. With this technology, the speakers are claimed to achieve more accurate, revealing sound – even at high volume.
These latest Magnetic Fluid Speakers come with a new glass fibre woofer that is said to enhance efficiency and reduces the weight of the voice coil, diaphragm and edge.
The new system also feature Near Field Communication (NFC) functionality. This lets users instantly stream music wirelessly by touching their NFC and Bluetooth-enabled Android devices against the system unit.
Sony’s Digital Music Enhancer also enhances wireless listening by using unique audio technologies to clean up the sound and restore high frequencies lost in heavily compressed music files.
Furthermore, users can control the system from a Xperia Tablet Z or Xperia smartphone with TV SideView. This free app for Android or iOS users enables them to browse programme listings, explore online services and discover more content related to the show you’re watching.
The new Football Mode claims to bring consumers the atmosphere and excitement of a big match. Suitable for football fans, the entertainment system uses acoustic data captured at an international football stadium to immerse you in the action as if you’re really there in the stands. At the touch of a button, you can mute the commentator or enhance crowd noise to really get into the game.
