Sony recently unveiled an update to its RX100 camera with the RX100 II.

The RX100 II comes equipped with a newly developed back-illuminated Exmor R 1.0” CMOS sensor that increases sensitivity while reducing picture noise especially in low light conditions. It also has a f/1.8 Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* lens and is Wi-Fi enabled that makes uploading images online.

On top of its Wi-Fi capabilities, the RX100 II also features NFC technology which enables the camera to transfer images to any compatible device with a mere touch. The technology even enables users to remotely control the camera using a smartphone or a tablet.

The RX100 II also features a new multi-interface shoe that allows users to attach optional accessories including an electronic viewfinder, external flash and stereo microphone.

There’s also a 3.0-inch White Magic LCD that tilts up and down. Moreover, the camera can now capture videos at 24p/25p for smooth and cinematic movies. Other notable features include a step zoom function; five focal length settings adjusted using the camera’s control ring.

Lastly, the RX100 II is compatible with devices that have the Triluminos Colour Technology which includes the latest generation of Bravia televisions and Vaio laptops. The Cyber-shot RX100 II will be available in Australia mid July 2013 for $899.
