A faulty signal box at Granville has caused widespread delays across the Cityrail network.

Trains on the Blue Mountains, North Shore, South and Western lines will all be delayed by up to 45 minutes.
The essential repairs may cause alterations in stopping patterns for trains.

RailCorp spokesman, Paul Rea, said: “We urge customers to listen for platform announcements and check indicators before boarding.”

Lightning strikes on the weekend are believed to be the cause, although RailCorp are yet to confirm that at this stage.
