Sharp is definitely living up to its name especially now that its IGZO displays have made a name for itself for providing consumers with superb visuals for many consumer electronic products. Now, the Japanese manufacturer is upping the ante as the company is reportedly working on displays with 600ppi pixel densities.

At 5.5-inches, such a display beats current high-end models such as the Samsung Galaxy S5 (432ppi), the HTC One M8 (with 441 ppi) and even the Oppo Find 7 (with 538ppi). According to Sharp, these ultra-dense panels will enable 4K media playback in tablets, specifically for 7-inch slabs that has a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels.

Sharp said it will start manufacturing these panels by early next year, so we should see devices with 600ppi displays sometime in 2015.
