Played scrabble on Facebook lately? You may not be able to for much longer, with Hasbro suing the creators of the Scrabulous app after launching their own authorised version of the game on the site.

Hasbro said in its lawsuit that Scrabulous violates its copyright and trademarks – they have also requested that Facebook block the game.

The Scrabulous app is one of the most popular applications on Facebook with 500,000 logging into the game daily – despite an official version of the game launching last week.

The Scrabulous app was created by India developers Rajat and Jayant Agarwalla. The
Jayant Agarwallas said he was looking forward to competing with the official version of the game.
