Samsung’s home grown mobile operating system – Tizen is due for release within the next few months but it seems that the Samsung is already quietly expanding the applications of the OS.

According to Samsung’s Co-CEO Boo-Keun Yoon in a statement he gave to German publication Die Welt, the company wants to create an ecosystem in which users will be able to connect different Samsung devices to one another and this will be made possible once Tizen OS becomes available across Samsung’s product offerings.

At present, majority of Samsung’s smartphones run on Android while their line of Smart TV runs on the company’s proprietary software. However, it’s quite unclear how Samsung would push for Tizen on its smartphone, given the huge success of its Galaxy line of Android phones.

Nevertheless, it appears Samsung is quite serious and is heavily invested in Tizen and there’s no sign that the Korean tech giant and its partner Intel are slowing down in terms of development.

There’s no new word yet from Samsung on when it will finally unveil Tizen OS. But for the meantime, the mobile OS is expected to make an appearance next month at Samsung’s Developer Conference in San Francisco.
