Today, Samsung and its executives held a conference call with its investors to talk about the company’s plans for its future.

One of the major points during the call was the company’s thrust on the improvement of components used in its products. In particular the Korean manufacturer would like to focus on building its own CPUs and improving the display for its smartphones and tablets.

Samsung is planning to build its own CPUs in the very near future using designs from ARM. The transition of CPU core production in house will be done in two phases. The first phase would involve the production of 64-bit cores based on ARM designs and then eventually move to its own design. At present, the company is using chipsets that feature CPU cores licensed from ARM.

In the display department, Samsung will reportedly manufacture RGB AMOLED displays with a pixel density of 560 pixels per inch. The company will also be targeting WQHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) and UHD (3840 x 2160 pixels) resolution displays.
