With the huge success of the Galaxy S3, you would never think that Samsung will return to the handset’s older brother to come out with a new and improved version of the Galaxy S2.

According to reports, Samsung is looking to announce the pumped up S2 version next year.

The phone would come with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box and the latest version of the TouchWiz UI, along with 8GB of storage and a choice of two colours – white or blue.

Samsung will reportedly start shipping the Galaxy S II Plus Chic White from week 3 and the Galaxy S II plus Dark Blue version from week 5 in Q1 2013.

Samsung also launched the downsized Galaxy S3 Mini recently, while rumours have been circulating about a possible Galaxy S4 launch at CES 2013.

The original S2 has not been completely left out in the market though. It is still selling well with some mobile carriers.

For pricing, the S2 Plus will likely come in between the Galaxy S III mini and the Galaxy Premier.
