Samsung is rumoured to be showcasing a 4.99-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display which might be the new Galaxy S4 at CES 2013 in Las Vegas come January.

The move may be in a bid to rival devices coming out of HTC, LG, Sharp and Sony. Rival handsets may include the Droid DNA, the rumoured Sony Yuga and Odin and Sharp's Aquos SH903W.

According to the reports, the handset will sport an ultra-thin AMOLED material and a screen with a 441 pixel per inch density. These big-time specs point to the likelihood that the handset will be the Galaxy S4.

The phone will also feature a resolution of 1920 X 1080. A combination of the current FMM production method, suitable for mass production, and the more advanced LITI technology, which is cheaper, but can't be scaled sufficiently, is supposedly being used to arrive at the 5-incher with 1920×1080 resolution.

Projected date of arrival will be around the second quarter of 2013.
