Samsung today announced the Australian availability of its T1 portable solid state drive (SSD). First announced at CES 2015, the T1 weighs under just 30 grams and is available in 250GB, 500GB and 1TB capacities.
Samsung says the T1 is able to transfer at up to 450MB per second when connected via USB 3.0. At the launch event, the manufacturer performed a live demo where 100GB was copied to the drive in 5 minutes and 26 seconds.
The T1 supports AES 256-bit encryption, allowing users to password lock the drive's entire contents.
The T1 is available from today through Harvey Norman. Pricing is as follows:
250GB T1 – AUD$269
500GB T1 – AUD$429
1TB T1 – AUD$799
