Samsung And LG To Unveil Curved OLED Phones

After announcing their own curved OLED TVs a few months back, both Samsung and LG are allegedly bringing their curved OLED technology to mobile phones. According to reports, the two Korean tech giants will unveil their respective devices with flexible OLED this month. Samsung has officially confirmed a curved display smartphones to be called the Galaxy Note 3 Active

 

After announcing their own curved OLED TVs a few months back, both Samsung and LG are allegedly bringing their curved OLED technology to mobile phones. According to reports, the two Korean tech giants will unveil their respective devices with flexible OLED this month.

Samsung has officially confirmed a curved display smartphones to be called the Galaxy Note 3 Active (the moniker Active is in reference to the unbreakable OLED display and not to a rugged feature), which could be announced as early as next week. LG on the other hand is rumoured to be announcing its Z-series of smartphone that features a concave display. The Z series is allegedly already in production and is expected to be unveiled within the month.

Both devices will have a curved form factor but neither will be flexible as the internal components of the phones cannot be made bendable. Moreover, both phones is expected to be manufactured in limited numbers as neither Samsung nor LG are capable of mass producing curved OLED displays yet.
