Project Morpheus virtual reality headset for PS4 to launch in 2016

Sony today announced that it will launch its PlayStation 4 compatible Project Morpheus virtual reality headset in the first half of 2016. In addition, the electronics manufacturer revised a number of the headset's key technical specifications.

The latest Project Morpheus prototype features a 5.7-inch high definition OLED display with a 120hz refresh rate, and a latency of 18ms. The combination of a high resolution screen, fast refresh rate and low latency should provide gamers with both a more comfortable and more realistic virtual reality experience.  In addition, Sony claims the new Project Morpheus prototype can track user's head movements more accurately.

Sony has yet to confirm which titles will compatible with Project Morpheus, but said that it will further discuss and demonstrate the headset at this year's E3 in June.
