Plantronics announces Australian availability of new noise cancelling, wireless headphones

Plantronics yesterday announced the Australian availability of BackBeat Pro, its latest pair of noise cancelling over-the-ear wireless headphones: they'll go on sale October 15 for AUD$349.

BackBeatPro boasts 24 hours of continuous wireless use, and 60 hours of wired. The battery can allegedly retain its charge for up to six months, and users are able to keep listening to their music without noise cancelation even if the headphones are flat.

BackBeatPro also doubles as a wireless headset, featuring a dual microphone configuration.

The headphones can simultaneously be paired with two devices, and offer a wireless range of 100m. They are compatible with iOS, Android and Windows Phone devices, in addition to PC and Mac.

BackBeat Pro will initially be available through Telstra, Tech2Go and Officeworks.

In a brief hands-on, CyberShack found BackBeat Pro boasted fantastic sound quality and were very comfortable to wear. We'll have a review of BackBeat Pro in the coming weeks.
