Pendo Pad 8: The $199 Windows tablet

Microsoft today announced that its first ultra-low-cost Windows 8.1 tablet, the PendoPad 8, will be available for purchase from Thursday for AUD$199.

The PendoPad has an 8-inch 1280×800 pixel touchscreen, 16GB of storage and 1GB of RAM. It runs the full version of Windows 8.1 and will include a year subscription to Office 365 Personal. Both the device's front and rear-facing cameras are 2 megapixels. The tablet is powered by a 1.83Ghz Intel Atom quad-core processor and allegedly boasts 8 hours of battery life.

The PendoPad 8 will be available from Target outlets Australia-wide.
