The rumours are circling once again and this time the latest buzz is saying that Apple is looking to come up with a Pandora competitor through its very own online music service which is set to launch in the first quarter of 2013.

According to reports, Apple’s negotiations with record labels are heating up and that the goal is to launch the streaming music service sometime in the first quarter of the new year. A deal could be made as early as the middle of next month. Also, ad revenue sharing is the current focus of discussion.

Key features of the new service include auto-generated playlists of what listeners have heard and the ability to buy tracks as “music streams”. This could mean that you can purchase and listen to music right in the cloud without having to download the file.

These are all speculation at the moment and there are no confirmations on what the service will look like and what exactly it will do, but Apple is currently trying to make updated licensing deals with several labels to shift the iTunes paradigm into something more than with it is right now.
