Chinese manufacturer OPPO has inked a deal with JB Hi-Fi that will see its upcoming R9 smartphone sold through the national electronics retailer, along with several of its previous handsets. The announcement follows the collapse of Dick Smith, who was previously OPPO's exclusive brick-and-mortar retail partner.
OPPO smartphones will be available from JB Hi-Fi nationwide from May 9, coinciding with the local launch of the recently announced OPPO R9.
The handset is a 5.5-inch device running a heavily customised version of Android Lollipop. Key specifications include a 1080p display, an eight-core MediaTek 2GHz processor, 64GB of expandable storage, 4GB of RAM, and a 2,850mAh battery. Front and rear-facing cameras measure in at 13MP and 16MP respectively.
