Three days after the launch of the Apple iPhone 3G, the company have announced that they sold their one millionth iPhone 3G on Sunday.
Apple CEO Steve Jobs is ecstatic about the results – describing the opening weekend as “stunning”. “It took 74 days to sell the first one million original iPhones,” says Job, “so the new iPhone 3G is clearly off to a great start around the world.”
The new iPhone 3G has all the same features as its earlier incarnation, plus 3G networking, built-in GPS and supports Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync. You can also download over 800 third party apps through the new App Store – which has had a record breaking week of its own – with 10 million applications downloaded since the store’s opening last week.
“The App Store is a grand slam, with a staggering 10 million applications downloaded in just three days,” says JOb. “Developers have created some extraordinary applications, and the App Store can wirelessly deliver them to every iPhone and iPod touch user instantly.”
