Last week, Google released its latest generation smartphone – the Nexus 5 alongside the newest version of Android – v4.4 KitKat.
While some of us are eagerly waiting for the update to reach our devices few developers have managed to rip several apps from the recently launched handset, which when installed on other Android devices, will provide the look and feel of Android KitKat in a matter of minutes.
Basically, you will need to install at least 3 main apps to get the look of Android KitKat. These include Google Play Services 4.0, Google Search and Google Launcher for Android 4.4. Other apps you can install include the new Google calendar, Clock, Email, Camera, Google Keyboard and the KitKat wallpapers.
As these apps are just ported from the Nexus 5, the developers warn of possible errors and conflicts with the existing configuration of your handset, so install these apps at your own risk. But if you’re patient enough you can just wait for Google to push the update to your phone (given your device will be supported), otherwise, you can click this link to get the apps mentioned above.
