New Dark Souls III trailer suggests series isn’t getting any easier
From Software unveiled a new trailer for Dark Souls III as part of Microsoft's Gamescom 2015 keynote address, giving audience members their first look at the title's gameplay.
First announced at E3 this year, Dark Souls III is the latest instalment of From Software's critically acclaimed "Souls" franchise, which also includes Demon Souls and PlayStation 4 exclusive spiritual successor Bloodborne.
While the trailer shows less than a minute of actual gameplay, it seems to suggest that Dark Souls III won't venture too far from the conventions that have made the series a cult hit: tight combat, towering monsters and a tough (but arguably fair) difficulty curve.
Dark Souls IIIis slated for a 2016 release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC.
