For just over $50, the Google Chromecast is definitely one of those gadgets that bring the most bang out of your money. So it’s not that surprising if other companies would try and employ the same strategy in order to get a piece of the action.

One particular company that’s reportedly building a Chromecast-like device is Mozilla. GigaOm’s report a few days ago showcased an unannounced TV stick in a hands-on video. Details about the device is pretty sketchy, in fact even its name is unknown at the moment. The report added that at its current form, the device is capable of running Android with possible support for iOS, Windows Phone and Amazon Fire Platform in the future.

Mozilla denied the report saying that the device is not a company project and instead could be from a third-party source that’s using the open-source software. Whether or not this is the case remains in murky waters, but we’ll keep our eyes open for more news in the future.
