This week on Mobile Mondays, we’ll be talking about two new upcoming devices that are designed with different consumer groups in mind. First one up is the limited edition Vertu Ti Colors which is Vertu’s remix of the original Ti handset.

The Vertu Ti Colors sports a 3.7-inch. It also has a 1.7GHZ processor, an 8MP rear camera, a 1.3MP front-facing camera, 64GB of internal memory, NFC and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. But of course, being a Vertu handset the Ti Colors follows the company’s tradition of using exquisite materials in its construction.

The Vertu Ti Colors’ body is made from grade 5 titanium and is accented by calf leather in either sunset red or midnight blue. There’s also a sapphire crystal panel that covers the display. The handset is currently on sale with a suggested retail price of US$11,600.

Now if the Vertu Ti smartphone is just too expensive for you, a cheaper alternative would be the upcoming Xperia Z Ultra. Two weeks ago, Sony sent out invites to some French websites about its July 4 event which will reportedly showcase the company’s phablet – the Xperia Z Ultra.

This week, leaked screenshots of the device has surfaced online and has somehow confirmed the existence of the phablet. Based on the images, it appears Sony has tweaked the launcher of the device in order to maximize on screen real estate. The launcher now sports a 6×5 grid of icons and a 6 icon dock bar. The icons also appear to be smaller which hints that the grid has been expanded.

If all goes well with Sony’s plans, we’ll see the confirmation of all these rumours about the Xperia Z Ultra next Thursday.
