This week on Mobile Mondays, we’ll be talking about a new set of leaked images and specs of three upcoming phones. The first two phones belong to Sony and are expected to become part of its main line of Xperia smartphones while the third handset comes from LG and will be the successor of the current Optimus L9.

SONY HONAMI

According to reports, Sony is already working on the successor of its current flagship phone, the Xperia Z. Based on various rumours on the web, the upcoming phone will be called as the Xperia Z1 and is currently known throughout the online community as the Honami smartphone.

This week, more information has been leaked about the handset. Specs-wise, the phone is said to have a 5.0-inch Full HD display, a 2.2GHz quad-core processor on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip, 2GB of RAM and a 20MP rear camera. Moreover, a press image of the phone has also surfaced, which provides clues about the phone’s construction.

From the leaked images, it appears that the Honami will have a metal frame. However, it is unclear whether this frame will function an antenna, the same way the metal frame of an iPhone does.

SONY HONAMI MINI

Another leaked handset this week, is the Honami Mini. The phone is slated to compete with other “Mini” phones such as the HTC One Mini and the Galaxy S4 Mini. The existence of the phone was somewhat confirmed through a blurry shot of the phone leaked by a newly-registered XDA-developers member.

The phone is said to have a 4.3-inch display with a resolution of 720p. Other features on its specs sheet include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip, a 20.7MP camera and a 2400mAh battery.

The phone is expected to be announced alongside the Xperia Z1 (Honami) on September 4.

LG OPTIMUS L9 II

Last, but certainly not the least is the LG Optimus L9 II. Today, a photo of the purported handset was leaked courtesy of the web’s favourite tipster – evleaks. In terms of looks, the Optimus L9 II looks a lot like its predecessor albeit the absence of a physical home key.

The phone will reportedly have a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 chip with a 1GHz dual-core Krait processor, Adreno 305 GPU and 1GB of RAM. It will have an 8MP rear camera, a 1.3MP front-facing camera, a 2150mAh battery and 8GB of internal storage, which is expandable via a microSD card.
