Microsoft has finally got itself a new CEO. The company’s former Executive vice president for Cloud and Enterprise Group Satya Nadella will be taking over the CEO position following Steve Ballmer’s departure. Microsoft has finally got itself a new CEO. The company’s former Executive vice president for Cloud and Enterprise Group Satya Nadella will be taking over the CEO position following Steve Ballmer’s departure.

Nadella has been with Microsoft for the past 22 years and have held numerous posts in the company. Meanwhile, the company’s founder Bill Gates will be stepping up as Microsoft’s Technology advisor and will oversee the direction of the tech giant’s various product groups. John Thompson on the other hand who was the former CEO of Symantec and lead independent director of the board at Microsoft will take over the post of chairman.

Nadella earned his MS degree in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and his MBA from the University of Chicago, School of Business. Nadella together with Thompson will be responsible for steering Microsoft’s ship and improving the performance of its products in different markets.
