Microsoft Sued Over Points

Microsoft is being sued in the US over its allocation of Microsoft points

A recent story out of the US tells of a Philadelphia-based attorney who is suing Microsoft over its points system.

Attorney, and Xbox 360 owner, Samuel Lassoff has filed a class action against the software giant because he alleges they are deliberately being overcharged using the points system.

It works a bit like this: Xbox fan buys points with real cash. Fan redeems points to buy extra content, but they have leftover points. They cannot use leftover points that they are not allowed to use because each transaction is considered separate.

Microsoft’s Xbox Product Manager Aaron Greenberg says the oversight is unintentional, but has lead them to think about getting rid of the points system, but putting it in the ‘too hard’ basket.
