Microsoft Office now supports iCloud on iOS

Microsoft today announced that its iOS versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint are now compatible with Apple's iCloud storage solution. The updated apps enable iPhone and iPad owners to open, edit and save documents to iCloud rather than to OneDrive or Dropbox, which was also recently integrated with the mobile Office suite.

"While we’re announcing availability of the iPad and iPhone integration today, we’re hard at work on the same type of integration for the Office universal apps for Windows 10 and the Office for Android apps," wrote Kirk Koenigsbauer, corporate vice president for Office team. "So in the future, no matter what device, platform, or storage provider you’re using, your Office documents will only be a tap away."

Microsoft also announced support for cloud storage provider Box across its mobile and online Office apps.
