The launch of Microsoft’s newest gaming console – the Xbox One is definitely a success with the console matching Sony’s record of a million units sold on its first 24 hours.

However, the new console didn’t achieve this feat without experiencing any hiccup. As it turned out, a number of customers have reported that their device is having problems specifically with their optical drives. According to the reports, some units were eating discs, while others were just ejecting them with accompanying ominous sound.

Fortunately, Microsoft is already aware of the issue and is working hard to make amends. In fact, the company is now issuing free game downloads to those customers who are having a problem with their device’s optical drive. Some of the games that these users can choose from include Dead Rising 3, Forza Motorsport 5, Ryse: Son of Rome or Zoo Tycoon.

Unfortunately, the free download only applies to customers who have faulty disc drives. Those that are encountering different problems with their machine are still left in the dark.
