LG has recently announced the latest generation of its Vu line of phablet – the LG Vu 3. And just like the other phablet in LG’s product range, the LG G2, the Vu 3 is also dropping the Optimus branding.

The phablet is built around a 5.2-inch IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1280 x 960 pixels and has a pixel density of 307 pixels per inch. The screen also has 4:3 aspect ratio, which makes it a bit wider compared to other phablets currently available in the market. Just like its predecessor, the Vu 3 comes with a stylus with a rubber tip.

The Vu 3 comes equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip with a Krait 400 quad-core processor clocked at 2.26GHz, complemented by 2GB of RAM and an Adreno 330 GPU.

It also has a 13MP snapper at the back and a 2.1MP sub camera at the front. Other notable features of the device include LTE-Advanced connectivity (up to 150Mbps downlink), KnockOn (wake device by double-tapping the screen), a Guest mode and Qlink (send notifications between the device and a tablet).

Lastly, the Vu 3 also works with translucent QuickView covers that let the contents of the screen shine through even when the cover is closed.

The LG Vu 3 will be released in Q4 2013 with the first batch of phablets shipping to South Korea this week.
