Android 4.3 (and to a certain extend Android 4.2) Jelly Bean isn’t really the most ground-breaking update in the Android ecosystem, especially when you put it side by side with Android 4.4 KitKat. So it isn’t that surprising to see manufacturers skipping the 4.3 build for KitKat.

LG is applying this strategy to a number of its smartphones, even skipping two versions by upgrading some devices from 4.1 to Android 4.4 KitKat. Some of the devices that are expected to get the KitKat flavour include the LG Optimus F3, F6 and F7, LG G Pad 8.3, G Pro Lite, Optimus L9 II, Vu II and the Vu III.

Meanwhile, the LG Optimus 4X HD will reportedly be staying on Android 4.1.2 as it appears the phone has reached the end of its software upgrade cycle.
