LG launches the world’s first Chrome OS all-in-one desktop – the Chromebase, just in time for CES next month.

The Chromebase features a 21.5-inch IPS Full HD display with an Intel Celeron processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of solid state drive. There’s also a 1.3MP webcam and microphone for easy video calling as well as built-in 5W speakers for music and video playback. In terms of ports, the Chromebase has an HDMI-in port, a number of USB ports (three USB 2.0 and one USB 3.0) and an ethernet port.

LG says the Chromebase is meant for schools and businesses like hotels and call centres, which gives the rationale for the not so impressive specs sheet. There’s no information yet on pricing and availability, but with CES just around the corner, we may not have to wait that long to get the details about the Chromebase.
